OPENING FOR THE SEASON
NOVEMBER 5, 2016
Good Morning Everyone!
Our Board of Directors met last night for our first meeting of the season, and as a result as promised I can share with you the important dates for the first part of the year!
We will be starting to put the ice in during the week of October 24 with a target opening date of Saturday, November 5, 2016. On November 5 we will be hosting an Open House/Registration Day and Try Curling Session from 1-4pm. Come out to the club for some social time, snacks, and throw some rocks! All curlers new and experienced, little rock, junior, adult and stick are welcome!
Other updates include:
Learn to Curl/Drop In Nights: November 9th & 10th @ 7pm - All new and experienced curlers or any age and discipline are welcome! There will be opportunity for new curlers to try our sport with support and guidance of some of our clubs more experienced members! Any current members who wish to do so may stop in for a pick up game!
Little Rock Program: November 7th & 10th - Once again this season MLCC will be offering for participants in our Little Rock Program to come direct to the club off of their school bus from area schools. Our club will provide supervision and a snack while awaiting their ice time. As our program continues to grow, so does our need for volunteers. If you are able to give your time to aid in the continued success of our Little Rock Program please contact program coordinator John E Martin.
Stick Curling: MLCC Stick Curling will resume November 8th & 10th. Our stick curling program will remain the same this season with curling and social time! All current and new stick curlers are welcome!
Regular Wednesday and Thursday Night Draws: November 16th & 17th - Our regular open draws will be the same as last season and are open to any curlers. Teams will be made and will remain the same for the duration of that schedule (we typically have 3 schedules throughout the winter, with the teams being re-drawn for each schedule). Please sign up with the club prior to November 15th if possible for inclusion in the draw.
We are also planning to hold our popular Drop In Ladies Night, a Mixed Doubles Night, and an Open Drop In Night. Stay tuned for more information on these events!
Other important upcoming dates (stay tuned for more information):
Kevin Gallant Memorial Bonspiel: November 25 & 26
Provincial Mixed Doubles (Host MLCC): December 2 & 3
Bonspiel (TBA): December 9 & 10
Sorry for the long winded update! We hope you are all as excited to get back to the club as we are! As always if there are any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate to contact myself or any of our board members!
